Monday in Class: Students share their pollution solution ads and public service announcements while classmates take 2-column notes about the problems and solutions presented. Homework: None
Tuesday in Class: Students use internet resources in the learning lab to find information for their mineral project due next Tuesday. To the right are links to sites where students can find information about minerals.
Wednesday in Class: Students learn how scientists classify minerals and the characteristics that distinguish on mineral from another. Among them are color, hardness, luster, streak color, and cleavage. Homework:
Thursday in Class: Students participate in a lab activity where they identify minerals based on their characteristics.
Friday in Class: Students use print resources to work on their mineral projects. Homework: Mineral projects are due Tuesday. The scoring rubric will be posted in the right column prior to the weekend.
